All Suites (including Vista/balcony cabins) feature floor-ceiling sliding doors opening to a private veranda with lounge furniture (table, chairs, sun loungers). The master bath impresses with a large whirlpool bath, separate shower and double vanity. Angie and I had the pleasure of staying in a spacious ocean-view room during our Holland America Zaandam cruise. We were pleasantly surprised by the abundance of storage options, including three closets and ample drawer space. Additionally, the room featured a cozy couch and movable table, which provided the perfect setting for enjoying our meals, catching up on work, or simply relaxing while watching TV.

Even the smallest cabin has multiple closets, some with shelves, others with wooden hangers. All beds are Holland America's signature Mariner's Dream bed with plush Euro-Top mattresses. The 2-story Rotterdam Restaurant (ship's Main Dining Room), is located aft and surrounded with windows. It serves open-seating breakfast and lunch and features plenty of small tables for passengers who prefer to dine a deux.

Because Zaandam is an older and smaller ship with a more upscale vibe, its cabins tend to feel roomy, even though cabin categories are limited compared to modern ships.
